The festive season has begun in India and the largest e-commerce players in the market have begun their discounts and sales. Each year around this time, plans for the biggest shopping festivals come about. The marketplaces had seen a slump immediately after GST was introduced. And, now they have all the reason to invest their confidence in the consumer again.
Flipkart has come up with bigger plans including discounts up to 60% on home furnishing items, apparel, accessories, and home décor. The retail is also pushing private labels and consumers can see special collections in The Big Billion Sale. Flipkart has also introduced consumer finance programs including buyback guarantee, product exchange offers, no cost EMIs, and buy now pay later.
Amazon is not far behind. The American retail is confident that this year will one of the best seasons for them. Amazon, in addition to its Prime service, has added a whopping 80 million products and has two times more selections. Moreover, they are also dishing out cost-cutting activities, expanded installation for big appliances, and have opened 45 new kiosks. Great Indian Festival Sale (From 20th of September to 24th of September 2017) is just around the corner.
Paytm is playing by its strengths – cash-backs. The Alibaba-backed digital wallet giant is working on its festive sales and it is known that the company has kept aside INR 1000 crore for the festive season sales.
Snapdeal had recently launched a sale in early September one of its many promotions for the festive period. Snapdeal is home-grown with a huge market and has invested its trust in its time-tested policy – discounts. Presently they have set aside INR 40 crore and have promised its customers with double-digit discounts especially on fashion and electronics.
The festive season, this year, it ought to be bombarded with sales, offers, and tough competition for the retails. The consumers will try to maximize their hunt for better and discounted products.
